National Conference in Ahmedabad Focuses on Educational Interventions for Diverse Learners.

 

Ahmedabad:

 

A three-day National Conference titled “Emerging Trends in Psychological and Educational Interventions for Diverse Learners: Future Prospects and Challenges” is underway in Ahmedabad, organized by the Indian Academy of Health Psychology in collaboration with Sardar Patel University and the Composite Regional Skill Development, Rehabilitation, and Empowerment Centre for Divyangjan.

On the second day, Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), addressed attendees, highlighting government initiatives such as the UDID card and free coaching programs for individuals with disabilities. He emphasized the need to encourage Divyang students to pursue careers in engineering, science, and technology, particularly those who are visually impaired or deaf-mute.

Dr. Niranjan Patel, Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, presided over the event, joined by Mrs. Pooja Patel of the National Trust Act and Dr. Ajit Kumar, Director of CRC, Ahmedabad. The conference director, Dr. Sameer J. Patel, welcomed participants, emphasizing the university’s commitment to supporting Divyangjan.

With over 300 attendees and 119 research papers submitted, the conference also featured the release of an abstract book compiling these contributions, fostering dialogue on innovative educational strategies for diverse learners.
