Shimla:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda visited the flood and landslide-affected areas of Himachal Pradesh, reaffirming the Central Government’s commitment to stand by every affected citizen in their time of need.

During his visit to Mandi district, Nadda toured Sainj Pangliur Baga village in the Nachan Assembly constituency, where he interacted with disaster-hit families and assessed the damage caused by cloudbursts and heavy rainfall. He was accompanied by Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, and BJP State President Rajeev Bindal.

Consoling grieving families, including Pushp Raj and Tilak Raj, who lost their parents in the disaster, Nadda said, “The Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring that no effort is spared in the rehabilitation of affected families.”

He further directed local authorities to expedite relief efforts, ensuring that no lapse occurs in reaching assistance to the affected people. “When people suffer such devastating losses, it is the government’s duty to respond with urgency and compassion. Relief work must continue without delay,” he emphasized.

Starting his visit in Sundernagar, Nadda was briefed by the local administration on the ongoing rescue and relief operations. He reiterated that the Central Government is working in full coordination with the Himachal Pradesh Government, providing all necessary resources in a timely manner.

In Thunag village, another area severely affected by landslides and flooding, Nadda met with local residents, reviewed relief material distribution, and inspected the functioning of health facilities in relief camps. He assured that the administration is working on a war footing to evacuate stranded individuals, provide temporary shelters, and ensure the availability of food and essential medicines.

Nadda also addressed concerns over damaged infrastructure, stating that restoration of broken roads and connectivity will be undertaken on priority to resume normal life as soon as possible.

“Himachal Pradesh is geographically vulnerable to natural disasters. In such times, the government and the society must show unity and resolve. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the Central Government is committed to reaching every affected individual and restoring normalcy at the earliest,” he said.

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, speaking on the occasion, praised Nadda’s consistent support to Himachal during natural disasters. “Whenever the state has faced calamities, Nadda has personally visited the ground, spoken to the people, and ensured Central aid flows swiftly,” Thakur remarked.

With several villages still battling the aftermath of heavy monsoon devastation, Nadda’s visit provided both administrative direction and emotional reassurance to the affected communities. The BJP leadership reiterated that rehabilitation, infrastructure restoration, and continued aid remain top priorities for both the State and Central Governments.
