Successful Rescue Operation for Missing Trekker Near Yunam Peak in Lahaul and Spiti of Himachal.

Shimla:
A missing trekker was successfully rescued today near Yunam Peak in the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh, thanks to a coordinated effort by the District Lahaul Spiti Police. The trekker, who was part of a group of nine, went missing while navigating the challenging terrain at an elevation of 20,300 feet.
Early this morning, authorities received reports of the missing individual, prompting a swift response. A rescue team, led by ASI Ravi Dutt and including HHC Vijay Kumar and Constable Mohit Shanil, was deployed with specialized gear and experienced trekkers. The team undertook a demanding 6-kilometer ascent to locate the trekker.
Lahaul and Spiti SP Mayank Chaudhary commended the team’s dedication, stating, “Despite facing extreme weather conditions, the team successfully reached the trekker and ensured their safe return. This operation highlights our commitment to the safety and security of everyone in the region.”
SP Chaudhary praised the quick action and determination of the rescue team in bringing the missing trekker back safely.
