Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated various development projects worth Rs. 329 crore today in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event, attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, marked the foundation stone laying for significant initiatives, including a 425-bed hospital in Mansa, which is set to address local health needs for the next 25 years.
Shah highlighted the construction of the hospital, funded with Rs. 244 crore, emphasizing that it will feature advanced medical facilities, including a trauma center, pediatric services, and diagnostic capabilities. He also announced the introduction of medical education in local languages, starting with Gujarati at the new Mansa Medical College, a pioneering initiative in India.
In his address, Shah praised the central government’s efforts in combating drug trafficking, citing a recent seizure of drugs worth Rs. 5,600 crore by Delhi Police and the dismantling of an international syndicate. Additionally, Shah outlined the Modi administration’s comprehensive healthcare strategy, which includes improving sanitation, ensuring clean drinking water, promoting Yoga, and expanding the Ayushman Bharat scheme for free medical treatment. He revealed plans to double the number of medical seats in India over the next five years, adding 75,000 new seats to bolster healthcare access.
The development projects inaugurated today are part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and services in Gujarat, reflecting the state and central government’s commitment to regional development and public welfare.
