During his address, CM Sukhu emphasized the government’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and enhancing rehabilitation efforts. He noted, “Strict actions against drug traffickers are being enforced, and we have made several arrests in the past month. Our goal is to support those affected by addiction and help them reintegrate into society.”

As part of the initiative, the state plans to establish a State-Level Model De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center in Kotla Barog, Sirmaur district, to aid individuals struggling with substance abuse. Additionally, a Center of Excellence is being developed in Kandaghat, Solan district, to provide education for 9,000 specially-abled children.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s efforts to support vulnerable groups, including free education for 23,000 children of widows and single women, and a welfare scheme for the elderly. He praised the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan for its role in social welfare and spiritual awakening, acknowledging the contributions of saints and reformers in combating social evils.

Furthermore, CM Sukhu reiterated the state’s objective to become a Green Energy State by March 31, 2026, announcing the establishment of a one-megawatt green hydrogen plant in Nalagarh. He urged the Union Railways Minister to consider operating the Kalka-Shimla rail services using green hydrogen, aiming to protect Himachal’s natural beauty while promoting sustainable development.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh and MLA Harish Janartha.
