CM Reviews Preparations for International Kullu Dussehra Festival.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today chaired a high-level meeting to assess the preparations for the upcoming International Kullu Dussehra festival, scheduled from October 13 to October 19. The CM emphasized the need for timely arrangements, ensuring that all preparations are completed within the designated timeframe.

During the meeting, Sukhu directed the Kullu administration to make adequate provisions for the deities participating in the Dussehra fair, honoring the traditions and respect associated with them. This year’s festival will feature approximately 20 international cultural troupes from countries including Russia, Sri Lanka, the USA, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Artists from various Indian states, such as Assam, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Haryana, will also perform, alongside local cultural groups from Himachal Pradesh.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the festival would attract several foreign diplomats, enhancing its global appeal. A cultural parade is scheduled for October 14, followed by the Kullu Carnival on October 19, showcasing achievements of various government departments.

To make the event more engaging, competitions in sports like Kabaddi and volleyball will also take place. For safety, 300 Home Guard personnel and 870 police officers will be deployed during the festival.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena and Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, who collaborated on ensuring a successful festival.
