Central Government Approves Rs. 21.05 Crore for Road Improvements in Mandi.

In a significant boost for infrastructure development, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved Rs. 21.05 crore for the strengthening and maintenance of key roadways in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced the funding, expressing gratitude to the central government for its support.
The allocated budget includes Rs. 9.16 crore for the Chailchowk-Gohar-Pandoh road stretch, as well as Rs. 11.89 crore for the Mandi-Kamand-Katoala-Bajaura road stretch. Vikramaditya emphasized the importance of these roads, which serve as vital links for both local residents and tourists traveling to Kullu.
During a recent visit to Delhi, he met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to advocate for the urgent need for road improvements in the region. He underscored the frequent blockages faced on the Chailchowk-Pandoh route during the rainy season, which can severely disrupt travel and local commerce.
The minister thanked Gadkari for his swift action in securing the necessary funds, highlighting that these improvements are not just about better roads but also about enhancing safety and accessibility for the community. The approved funds are expected to significantly improve travel conditions, reduce the risk of accidents, and facilitate smoother access to essential services.
