Mandi College Commemorates Martyr Surender Pal Singh on His Shaheed Divas.

Vallabh Government College, Mandi, in collaboration with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), observed the Shaheed Divas of Assistant Commandant Surender Pal Singh at college premises in Mandi. The event, held at the college, was presided over by Flying Officer Dr. Chaman.
The NCC Air and Army Wing units, along with ITBP personnel, paid their respects at the martyr’s memorial with a wreath-laying ceremony. Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, ITBP Assistant Inspector Yuvraj Sharma, and the martyr’s wife Beena Guleria laid floral tributes at the memorial.
Dr. Chaman, addressing the cadets, emphasized the importance of national security, honor, and welfare, and praised the college’s alumni and NCC cadets for their contributions to the nation. Surender Pal Singh, an alumnus of the college from the 1970s, sacrificed his life while combating terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on November 10, 2000, after successfully eliminating three militants during an operation.
The college also honored Singh’s family by presenting a memento to his wife, Beena Guleria. College Principal Prof. Surina Sharma extended her condolences to the martyr’s family and wished them well.
The ceremony was attended by numerous NCC cadets, faculty, and officials from ITBP and the local community.
