NCC Organizes Blood Donation Camp on NCC Rising Day in Mandi.

In celebration of NCC Rising Day, the NCC Air Wing and Army Wing, under the leadership of the NCC Air Wing Mandi’s Flight Commander, Associate NCC Officer Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, organized a blood donation camp on Sunday. Over 50 cadets from both the NCC Air Wing and Army Wing participated in the event.

Dr. Chaman, who inaugurated the camp, set an example by donating blood for the 21st time, showcasing his commitment to humanity.

He emphasized the importance of blood donation, describing it as not just a slogan but a duty for every individual. “Blood donation is a great initiative that not only helps save lives but also creates awareness and responsibility in society,” Dr. Chaman said.

He further explained that blood donation is crucial for patients suffering from accidents, surgeries, anemia, and thalassemia, as well as in times of natural disasters, wars, or pandemics, ensuring a steady supply of blood during critical times. “Blood donation helps develop a positive attitude towards health and encourages a sense of unity, brotherhood, and humanity,” he added.

Dr. Chaman also highlighted the health benefits of blood donation, including improved blood circulation and reduced risks of heart disease.

The blood donation camp was held at the Mandi Regional Hospital, under the guidance of Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, Commanding Officer of the Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC Kallu. Dr. Dushyant Thakur and his team from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Regional Hospital played an essential role in the camp’s success.

Over 50 cadets from the NCC Air and Army Wings, including Cadet Mridul, Cadet Samriddhi Sharma, Cadet Suryansh Thakur, Cadet Mandeep Singh, Cadet Neetesh Kumar, Cadet Ranjana Kumari, Cadet CPL Ganesh Bhardwaj, and Cadet Warrant Officer Ankush Sharma, participated in the blood donation camp, along with NCC Army Wing Girls Cadets Aarti Thakur, Neha Chaudhary, and Preeti.

The event was also graced with the participation and blessings of Wing Commander Kunal Sharma and Professor Surina Sharma, Principal of Vallabh Government College Mandi.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman thanked the Chief Medical Officer N.K. Bhardwaj and Dr. Dushyant Thakur’s team for their support in organizing the successful blood donation camp.

NCC’s foundation day, celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday of November, aims to instill unity and integrity among the youth, encouraging discipline and leadership skills. Through such initiatives, the NCC continues to inspire young people towards nation-building and social service.
