Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025, Unveils Vision for Empowering Rural India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking the start of a week-long celebration focused on rural India’s growth and transformation. The theme of this year’s Mahotsav, “Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2024,” highlights the government’s vision of transforming rural areas into vibrant hubs of opportunity and prosperity.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that rural India holds immense potential and that empowering villages is crucial for national development. He outlined the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure basic amenities for every rural household, mentioning initiatives such as the Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Awaas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission. He also highlighted the role of digital technology, telemedicine, and telecommunication services in connecting rural areas with essential services.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of cooperative models and policies designed to strengthen the rural economy, including the creation of more Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and the successful implementation of schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He also spotlighted rural women, emphasizing their growing role in the economy through initiatives such as the Mudra Yojana and self-help groups.
In addition, Modi reflected on the significant infrastructure improvements in rural India, citing advancements in road connectivity, digital services, and banking. He called for collective efforts to maintain rural heritage and foster a harmonious society, encouraging villagers to safeguard initiatives like Amrit Sarovars and tree plantation campaigns.
The Mahotsav, which will run from 4th to 9th January, aims to celebrate rural entrepreneurship, promote financial inclusion, and encourage innovation, particularly in North-East India. Through discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, the event seeks to empower rural communities and accelerate India’s journey toward a developed nation by 2047.
