State Congress president Pratibha Singh, a sitting MP, refuses to contest Lok Sabha election from Mandi seat, Congress high command in dilemma.

State Congress president and sitting MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat Pratibha Singh has expressed her reluctance to contest the Lok Sabha election from Mandi parliamentary constituency, which is scheduled on June 1.
Talking to media persons here today, she said that “party workers are discontented from the stare government, who failed to get their adjustment after Congress came into power in the state. I raised this issue in media as well as with chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu but to no avail. Finally party workers have sit at their homes who are unwilling to work for the party. In such a situation, it is very difficult for any leader to contest the election without support of party workers.”
“It is not easy to win the election merely allocating MP funds for the development works. Party workers are the backbone of any party who need due respect, when their party come into power” she remarked.
She said that “after disqualification of six Congress MLAs from HP Vidhan Sabha, now by elections are due on these six assembly seats in Himachal. To win these assembly election is more important for the Congress to save the government in Himachal. Being a state president of party, my thrust will be to ensure win of Congress all these six assembly seats.”
Pratibha said that to finalize the names of candidates for Lok Sabha and assembly seats, surveys will be conducted in the state to select the potential candidates to contest the elections to ensure the win of party.
The statement of Pratibha gave ammunition to the opposition party BJP to target the Congress, which is facing tough time because of internal bickering in Himachal. On the other hand BJP is in upbeat after the statement of Pratibha Singh.
In Mandi parliamentary constituency, BJP was facing a challenging task to find a suitable candidate for the win of party against heavy weight Congress MP Pratibha Singh.
