Shimla:

The long-pending demand for a bridge over Haro Nala in the remote Pin Valley of Lahaul and Spiti district has finally been fulfilled, marking a significant infrastructure milestone for the region. The Public Works Department (PWD), through its Civil and Mechanical wings, has successfully launched the bridge construction work.

Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana welcomed the development, describing it as the fulfillment of a years-old demand of local residents. She expressed gratitude to the entire PWD Kaza team and Mechanical Wing SDO Bhim Singh Negi for their efforts in executing the challenging task. Rana also acknowledged the support extended by Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC) member Chewang Ringzin, Congress Booth President Tandup Dorje, and the villagers for their cooperation.

Chewang Ringzin and Tandup Dorje said the bridge would greatly benefit the residents of Sagnam Panchayat in the remote Pin Valley. They noted that the new connectivity would enable farmers to transport their agricultural produce to nearby markets more efficiently and on time, helping them secure better prices for their crops.

The bridge is expected to improve year-round accessibility, strengthen rural connectivity, and provide a major boost to the local economy and livelihoods in the high-altitude tribal region.
