New Delhi:

The Ministry of Ayush has released a total of Rs. 2765.3 crore as financial assistance to States and Union Territories under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) over the last five years, aimed at promoting various AYUSH systems. This initiative supports the development of AYUSH healthcare and infrastructure across the country.

The funds have been utilized for various activities, including the establishment of 145 Integrated AYUSH Hospitals (IAHs) in different states and districts. These hospitals will provide better access to AYUSH treatments and facilities, contributing to the growth of alternative healthcare systems.

In addition, the concept of Ayush Gram has gained traction, with 699 units established in selected villages to promote the AYUSH way of life. These units are funded with Rs. 3 lakh each, covering populations of 2,000 to 3,000 in each village cluster.

The approval of these hospitals and village health initiatives reflects the government’s commitment to promoting traditional healthcare practices and ensuring their accessibility to rural and underserved populations.

Union Minister of State (I/C) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, shared this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
