Seven Students from Political Science and Hindi Departments of Vallabh Government College, Mandi Qualify UGC-NET, Setting a New Benchmark.

Seven students of Vallabh Government College, Mandi — five from the Department of Political Science and two from the Department of Hindi — have brought laurels to the institution by qualifying the prestigious University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) conducted in June 2025. This outstanding achievement reflects the college’s rich academic tradition and commitment to excellence.

From the Department of Political Science, M.A. students Ankita Thakur, Atul, and Ankesh successfully cleared the examination. Earlier, Aman had qualified UGC-NET with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Vikesh had also cleared UGC-NET, bringing the department’s total tally of qualifiers to five.

In the Department of Hindi, Raja Kaushal and Jyoti, students of M.A. fourth semester, also cleared the UGC-NET, adding to the institution’s growing legacy of academic success. These accomplishments are the result of the students’ hard work, the unwavering support of their faculty, and the college’s enriching academic environment.

College Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar extended heartfelt congratulations to all successful candidates, their parents, and faculty members. He remarked that this achievement is a reflection of students’ dedication, discipline, and the college’s vibrant academic culture. He further highlighted the crucial role of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Library and faculty members from various departments in fostering holistic development among students.

Dr. Kumar also noted that the students of Vallabh Government College are excelling not only in academics but also bringing national and international recognition to the institution through outstanding performances in National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Rover-Ranger activities, sports, research projects, and youth exchange programs.

Flying Officer Dr. Chaman, Assistant Professor and Media Coordinator of the college, shared that by qualifying the UGC-NET, candidates become eligible for the position of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across the country.

To celebrate this remarkable success, the college administration organized a High-Tea Party in honor of the meritorious students.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Prof. Baldev Verma, Dr. Rattan Thakur, Dr. Om Prakash Thakur, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman (Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication), Dr. Rajkumar Jamwal (Head, Department of Hindi), Dr. Dayak Ram, Assistant Professor Sarita, Assistant Professor Anju Bala, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hoshiyaar were present and extended their warm wishes and congratulations to the successful students, wishing them a bright and prosperous future.
