Traffic Chaos on Mandi-Kullu Highway Disrupts Daily Life, Farmers and Tourists Bear the Brunt: Former Minister Govind Singh Thakur.

Former Minister and senior BJP leader from Manali Govind Singh Thakur stated that The Mandi-Kullu National Highway has become a symbol of governmental apathy and administrative failure, with daily traffic snarls turning commutes into hours-long ordeals. The worsening situation is severely impacting local residents, tourists, and particularly apple growers during the peak harvest season.

“As apple season reaches its peak, the traffic congestion has taken a grave turn. Farmers are struggling to transport their produce to markets on time, leading to significant financial losses. The fruits of their year-long labor are at risk of spoiling due to prolonged delays” he added.

“Tourism, a vital sector for the region’s economy, is also suffering as visitors face frustrating delays, diminishing the overall travel experience” he said.

“Local voices are growing louder, demanding immediate government intervention. There is an urgent need for effective and lasting solutions to ease the traffic burden and provide much-needed relief to farmers, orchardists, and the tourism industry alike”,he remarked.
