Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has lauded the prompt and courageous efforts of the Indian Army, Kangra district administration, and local volunteers in the aftermath of devastating landslides that recently struck Bachwai village in the Thural area.

In an official statement, CM Sukhu expressed deep appreciation for the well-coordinated rescue and relief operation that led to the safe evacuation of residents stranded by the landslide. “The joint response of the Indian Army, local administration, and villagers ensured that no lives were lost despite the severity of the disaster,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the successful retrieval of personal belongings and household valuables from the rubble of severely damaged homes. A total of 13 families were affected by the landslides, which caused significant destruction in the region. Despite the challenging terrain and weather conditions, rescue teams managed to recover essential items, providing some solace to the displaced families.

“This operation was not just about saving lives and property. It was about restoring hope to people who faced sudden devastation,” CM Sukhu remarked. “The tireless efforts of our Army and administration have once again demonstrated the unwavering spirit of service and solidarity. Their commitment has strengthened the bond of trust between the local communities and the armed forces.”

The Chief Minister also assured continued support from the state government in the form of relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected families. Teams have been deployed to assess damage and ensure necessary assistance reaches the victims promptly.

As restoration work continues in Bachwai and nearby areas, the rescue operation stands as a testament to the power of timely coordination and human compassion during crisis situations.
