Nursery Students Enthrall with Creative Costumes and Confident Performances.

The EEDP branch of D.A.V. Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi was filled with color, cheer, and boundless energy as a vibrant Fancy Dress Activity was organized for the Nursery class students on September 18 and 19 within the school premises.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 69 students35 children from Nursery Acorn and 34 from Nursery Olive — who dazzled the audience with their creative costumes and spirited performances.

A Parade of Imagination and Expression

The tiny tots arrived dressed as a wide array of characters and objects, ranging from historical and mythological figures like Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bhagat Singh, Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Shivaji, Mangal Pandey, and Goddess Durga, to national personalities such as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Narendra Modi.

Others showcased nature and everyday life by dressing up as a clock, tomato, tree, cloud, mountain girl, sunflower, Earth, mango, city bus, doctor, teacher, police, astronaut, pilot, and even a sheep and a dinosaur. Popular fictional characters like Wonder Girl, Spiderman, Masha, and Doraemon also made delightful appearances, captivating the audience

This wide spectrum of costumes highlighted not only the creativity of the parents and teachers, but also the children’s ability to confidently express themselves in front of an audience at such a young age.

Participation and Performances

From Nursery Acorn, the following 35 students participated:
Navika, Naisha, Arya, Aparna, Arjikia, Avyan Shaurya, Dhanushi, Ekaksh, Garima, Karnika, Kashvi, Kavish, Madhav, Paridhi, Priyal, Rajveer, Rishi, Rivan, Rudra, Rudransh, Sahaj, Saiyansh, Satvika, Sarvnik, Shivanya, Shivay, Shrija, Shreyansh Vashisth, Swarit, Tavisha, Uddish, Vedant Thakur, Vedant Chandel, Vidisha, and Arjun Gupta.

From Nursery Olive, 34 students took part:
Harsh Thakur, Ishan Parashar, Mishita Thakur, Mitansh Lohia, Mridul Dogra, Nihan Thakur, Nitika Thakur, Nitya Rana, Nityansh, Priyanshi Thakur, Rudransh Thakur, Shanvi Dogra, Shivansh Kaundal, Shivay Sharma, Thinley Choekyi, Vrishank Singh, Yuvansh Thakur, Kashvi Thakur, Aadvi Thakur, Ayansh Singh, Ayush, Advik Katoch, Advika Thakur, Akshat Guleria, Ali Hussain, Amayra Sharma, Anaya, Aniket Mehra, Anvita, Avyukt, Ayansh, Devanshi Sharma, Divisha Thakur, and Divyansh.

Each child took to the stage with poise and excitement, introducing themselves and sharing a few lines about their character. Their charming presence and confident speaking drew rounds of applause from teachers and fellow students alike.

A Step Towards Holistic Development

The activity was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Principal Kuldeep Guleria, who appreciated the children’s efforts and lauded the involvement of teachers and parents. He highlighted the importance of such co-curricular engagements in building self-confidence, stage presence, and communication skills in early childhood.

“Activities like these go beyond costumes—they are building blocks of personality development. Watching our young learners speak with such joy and confidence is truly heartwarming,” said Principal Guleria.

The event concluded on a joyful note, with smiling faces, proud teachers, and parents who witnessed their little ones take their first steps toward public speaking and performance.
