The four-day “Leadership and Personality Development Training Programme” concluded successfully at Vallabh Government College, Mandi. The valedictory session was graced by Professor Jagdish Lal, Joint Director (Retd.), Higher Education Department, Himachal Pradesh, who attended as the Chief Guest.
In his inspiring address, Professor Jagdish Lal stated that value-based education, leadership qualities, and a positive outlook among students are essential for building a bright future for society. He urged the students to adopt self-discipline, a spirit of service, and goal-setting as integral parts of their lives.
The four-day training programme was organized under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Principal, in collaboration with the Gandhi National Youth Committee, Chandigarh, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The primary objective of this training programme was to strengthen the students’ leadership abilities, self-confidence, teamwork, and sense of social responsibility. A total of 39 students participated, including members of the NSS, NCC, and Rover-Ranger units.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that such training programmes play a significant role in enhancing students’ confidence, practical understanding, and positive attitude.
Programme Coordinator Dr. Balbir Singh informed that throughout the four days, experts provided valuable and practical training on topics such as leadership, personality development, communication skills, team coordination, and core human values.
The sessions were conducted by the lead Resource Person, Thokchom Reganchandra Singh, Training Associate, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Regional Centre, Chandigarh. Singh has been actively engaged in the field of youth development for over a decade and has successfully conducted numerous training programmes across the country for NSS and MY Bharat volunteers, NCC cadets, and Youth Work Professionals.
Praveen Sharma also played a key role in coordinating and facilitating the training sessions.
Additionally, Dr. Deepali Ashok guided the students on value education, self-motivation, and balanced personality development.
In another important session, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman delivered an insightful and comprehensive lecture on Leadership, Personality Development, Communication Skills, and Team Work.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Deepali Ashok, while the Vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Balbir Singh.
The event concluded with the National Anthem.
