MLA Anuradha Rana Lays Foundation Stones for Watershed Development Works in Tindi, Distributes Tool Kits to 69 Beneficiaries.

Lahaul-Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana today laid the foundation stones for several developmental and infrastructure-related works under the Watershed Development Component–PMKSY 2.0 (WDC–PMKSY 2.0) for the financial year 2025–26 in the Tindi Gram Panchayat area of Udaipur subdivision in Lahaul and Spiti district. The projects aim to strengthen water conservation measures, improve irrigation facilities, and enhance rural connectivity in the region.
Under the programme, a number of important works have been approved, including the laying of an approximately 5-kilometre-long 90/110 mm pipeline from Bada to Aghar, construction of check walls, development of kutcha rural paths, burji-side check walls, check walls at Hajju–1 and Hajju–2, a QC pipeline from Kharedi Nallah to Hajju, construction of an RCC kuhul (water channel) at Hajju, and a breast wall near the M.M. building at Aghar.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Anuradha Rana said that the completion of these works would significantly strengthen water conservation efforts in the area, improve irrigation systems, and upgrade rural access roads, thereby providing direct benefits to local residents. She emphasized that the government’s priority is to ensure balanced and inclusive development in remote and tribal regions so that welfare schemes reach the last person.

During the event, tool kits were distributed to 69 beneficiaries to support livelihood and skill-based activities. The programme was further enlivened by cultural performances presented by the Mahila Mandal Aghar and local school students.
On the occasion, the MLA also announced financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to Mahila Mandal Aghar, Rs. 50,000 to Senior Secondary School Tindi, Rs. 11,000 to stage coordinator Gungun Thakur, and Rs. 11,000 to Lakshita for excellence in a speech competition.
The ceremony was attended by Tindi Panchayat Pradhan Kamla Thakur, Zila Parishad Chairperson Veena Devi, SDM Udaipur Alisha Chauhan, former district president Gyalchhan Thakur, Zila Parishad member Chhezang Dolma, DC Chairman Vipin Shashni, Vice-Chairman DC Dilip Baudh, TAC member Sushil Kumar, former general secretaries Pyare Lal Sharma and Anil Thakur, former block president Devi Singh, Pradhan Satish Kishori, Vice-Pradhan Muling Sushil, BDC member Dinesh, Youth Congress Vice-President Sahil, along with many other public representatives, officials, and a large number of local residents.
The programme concluded successfully in the presence of departmental officials, elected representatives, and the local public.
