Three NCC Cadets from Vallabh Government College, Mandi, Selected for National Republic Day Camp–2026.

It is a proud moment for Vallabh Government College, Mandi, as three of its NCC cadets have been selected to represent the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate at the prestigious National Republic Day Camp–2026, to be held in New Delhi.
Sharing the news, Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, Flight Commander and NCC Officer of the Air Force Wing at the college, said that the selected cadets—NCC Air Wing Cadet Nagendra, Senior Under Officer Praveen Kumar of the NCC Army Wing, and Junior Under Officer Ankita—have upheld the rich traditions of the college’s NCC units through exceptional dedication and performance.
Currently in their third year of undergraduate studies, the cadets will participate in a variety of events during the Republic Day celebrations, including the ceremonial parade at Kartavya Path and the Prime Minister’s Rally at Cariappa Ground.
Prior to their final selection, the cadets underwent rigorous training and competed in multiple camps:
- Inter Group Camp, Dalhousie: 28 September – 7 October 2025
- Pre-Inter Group Camp (Second Phase), Chitkara University, Solan: 17 – 26 October 2025
- IGC Camp, Rupnagar (Ropar): 11 – 21 November 2025
- Pre-Republic Day Camp, NCC Academy, Rupnagar: 22 November – 1 December 2025
- Pre-Republic Day Camp (Second Phase), NCC Academy, Rupnagar: 8 – 17 December 2025
- Pre-Republic Day Camp, NCC Academy, Rupnagar: 18 – 27 December 2025
Demonstrating outstanding performance at each stage, the cadets earned their selection to the National Republic Day Camp.
Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh highlighted that the camp plays a vital role in fostering discipline, leadership, and national unity among youth. It also familiarizes cadets with democratic values, the Constitution, and national service ideals, while promoting cultural integration and fraternity among participants from across India.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, congratulated the cadets and lauded the guidance provided by NCC Officer Flying Officer Dr. Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, along with Caretaker Officers Dr. Balbir Singh and Dr. Kavita. He noted that under their leadership, the college’s NCC cadets have achieved national and international recognition, participating in youth exchange programmes in countries including Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Russia. Many alumni have gone on to join the Indian Air Force and Indian Army, further enhancing the college’s prestige.
Through a combination of community development programmes, adventure training, institutional initiatives, and youth exchanges, Vallabh Government College has established a distinct identity at both national and international levels.
