CM Sukhu Meets Union Health Minister, Seeks Centre’s Support for Strengthening Health Infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today called on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda in New Delhi to discuss key health initiatives and seek the Centre’s support for the development of health infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.

During the meeting, CM Sukhu requested the Union Minister to take up state-specific projects at the central level and extend assistance for strengthening the healthcare system across Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for upgrading health infrastructure, including modern medical facilities, and expanding the reach of the Ayushman Bharat Programme to benefit more citizens in the state.

The discussions also focused on enhancing the overall quality of healthcare services, improving accessibility in remote and hilly regions, and addressing the challenges faced by the state’s health sector.

Responding positively, Union Minister J P Nadda assured the Chief Minister of all possible support from the Central Government. He reiterated that the Centre is fully committed to strengthening healthcare services, developing modern infrastructure, and expanding health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Himachal Pradesh.

“Had a productive discussion regarding overall development in the State of Himachal Pradesh,” Nadda said, highlighting the collaborative approach between the state and central governments.

The meeting underscores Himachal Pradesh’s focus on modernizing health facilities, improving public health services, and ensuring better healthcare access for its citizens, particularly in rural and hilly areas.

Senior officials from the state and central health departments accompanied the Chief Minister during the discussions.
