US Conducts Major Airstrikes on Iran’s Kharg Island; US president Trump Warns Against Interference in Strait of Hormuz.

Washington, D.C.:

In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the United States Central Command carried out one of the most powerful bombing raids in the region’s history, targeting military installations on Iran’s strategically important Kharg Island. The operation was ordered by US President Donald J. Trump, who said in a statement that all military targets on the island were “totally obliterated.”

Kharg Island, located in the Persian Gulf, is a critical hub for Iran’s oil export infrastructure. In his statement, Trump emphasized that, for reasons of decency, the United States deliberately spared the island’s oil facilities but warned that any interference with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz would prompt reconsideration of this restraint.

Trump described the strike as a demonstration of the United States’ military superiority, claiming that the US possesses “the most powerful and sophisticated weapons that the world has ever known.” He asserted that Iran has “no ability to defend anything” against US attacks and reiterated his long-standing position that Iran will never acquire a nuclear weapon or the capacity to threaten the United States, the Middle East, or the world.

US  president warned Iran and any allies supporting its “terrorist regime” to “lay down their arms and save what’s left of their country,” suggesting that the operation is intended as both a show of strength and a deterrent.

Trump highlighted that the US military had been rebuilt into the “most lethal, powerful, and effective force” globally during his administration, underscoring that the strike reflects America’s readiness and capability to respond decisively to threats.

The airstrikes on Kharg Island mark a significant escalation in US-Iran tensions, following years of sanctions, covert operations, and intermittent military engagements in the region. Analysts suggest that the operation could further destabilize the Persian Gulf and affect global oil markets due to heightened security risks in one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints.

The White House confirmed that the Central Command conducted the precision strikes targeting military infrastructure, and no civilian casualties have been reported so far. Officials emphasized that the strikes were strictly aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities while avoiding unnecessary damage to civilian and economic assets.

This unprecedented action signals a clear US message to Tehran regarding the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz and underscores the ongoing high-stakes rivalry between the United States and Iran in the region.
