Grand Cricket Tournament to Be Held in Mandi in Memory of Maharaja Lakshman Sen; Winners to Receive Rs. 1 Lakh Prize.

Cricket enthusiasts in Mandi district have an exciting sporting event to look forward to as a major cricket tournament is set to be organized at the ground of Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial College. The announcement was made by Ajay Rana, President of the Mandi Cricket Association.
According to Ajay Rana, the tournament is being organized in memory of Maharaja Lakshman Sen and Raja Hari Sen, with the aim of carrying forward their legacy and tradition of promoting sports. He also highlighted the rich history of the institution, noting that the college was established in 1976 by Raja Lalit Sen. Over the decades, thousands of students have graduated from the college, and many continue to share a strong emotional connection with the institution.
The tournament will follow a “first come, first served” registration system and will be completely open, allowing teams from different areas to participate. A total of 32 teams will compete in the event. Each participating team will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 11,000.
Announcing the prize structure, Ajay Rana said the winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, while the runner-up team will be awarded Rs. 50,000.
He further informed that the registration process for teams will begin on March 16 and continue until March 23. The tournament will officially kick off on March 27, with the opening ceremony followed by the first match at the MLSM College ground.
The cricket association expects the tournament to continue for about a month, providing a significant platform for emerging local players. Organizers believe the event will not only encourage young talent but also contribute to improving the overall standard of cricket in the Mandi region.
