Benjamin Netanyahu Issues Nowruz Message to Iranians from Military Command Center, Claims Israeli Strikes on Top Terror Leaders.
Jerusalem:
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a direct message to the people of Iran on the occasion of Nowruz, saying Israel had recently carried out strikes against senior figures linked to what he described as the “terror leadership” of the Iranian regime.
Speaking from the Israeli Air Force command center at the The Kirya, Israel’s main military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said the operations were conducted within the past 24 hours. He was accompanied by senior security officials including Israel’s Defense Minister, the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the head of the Mossad, the commander of the Israeli Air Force, and other top military leaders.
In his remarks, Netanyahu claimed Israeli forces had eliminated two senior figures he described as “top terrorist chieftains” associated with the Iranian regime. He also said Israeli aircraft were continuing operations targeting what he called “terror operatives” across different locations.
“Our aircraft are hitting the terror operatives on the ground, in the crossroads, in the city squares,” Netanyahu said in the recorded message.
Message to the Iranian People
Addressing the Iranian public directly, Netanyahu linked the military action to the upcoming Nowruz celebrations, the Persian New Year observed across Iran and other parts of the region.
“This is meant to enable the brave people of Iran to celebrate the Festival of Fire,” he said, referring to Chaharshanbe Suri, a traditional fire festival held before Nowruz.
Netanyahu ended his message by wishing the Iranian people a happy new year.
“So celebrate and Happy Nowruz. We’re watching from above,” he added.
Rising Regional Tensions
The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, with both countries accusing each other of supporting hostile activities across the Middle East. Israel has repeatedly warned about Iran’s regional influence and alleged backing of militant groups, while Tehran has condemned Israeli military actions.
Netanyahu’s message, delivered directly to the Iranian public during the culturally significant Nowruz period, reflects Israel’s attempt to distinguish between Iran’s government and its citizens while continuing its security operations.
Observers say such messaging is part of a broader strategic communication effort aimed at influencing public perception inside Iran while signaling Israel’s military capabilities.
