Washington, D.C.:

First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday inaugurated the first-ever global coalition summit of Fostering the Future Together, bringing together representatives from 45 countries along with leading technology companies to advance children’s access to education and safe digital environments.

The high-level gathering, held at the U.S. Department of State, marks a significant international effort to align governments and private sector leaders around a shared mission: empowering the next generation through technology, innovation, and education.

A Global Vision for Children

In her keynote address, Trump emphasized unity beyond political and geographical divides, calling the initiative a “historic moment” for global collaboration.

“As people we dream. As leaders we progress. As nations we will build. Beginning today, let’s accelerate our new global alliance… to positively impact the progress of our children,” she said.

She highlighted that the coalition’s vision places children at the center of global priorities, aiming to expand access to education and equip young people with critical skills for a rapidly evolving digital world.

Focus Areas: Technology, Safety, and Education

Delegates and tech leaders engaged in detailed discussions across four major themes:

  • Educational technology (EdTech) tools
  • Artificial Intelligence in education
  • Online safety and child protection
  • Digital literacy

The sessions aimed to develop practical, scalable solutions to bridge educational gaps while ensuring safer digital ecosystems for children worldwide.

Public-Private Collaboration Takes Center Stage

The summit saw participation from major technology firms including OpenAI, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Adobe, and Zoom Communications.

Trump praised the unprecedented convergence of global leaders and tech innovators, noting that such collaboration is key to delivering impactful and scalable solutions.

“Never before have so many tech visionaries stood before such a large global audience of leaders… This room is filled with extraordinary human capital,” she said.

Broad International Participation

The inaugural coalition includes countries from across continents, reflecting a diverse and inclusive global effort. Participating nations include France, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates, among many others.

From Vision to Action

Trump urged member nations to move beyond dialogue and commit to tangible actions such as:

  • Hosting regional meetings
  • Conducting research studies
  • Building cross-border partnerships
  • Advancing education and technology policies

She stressed that the coalition would act as a “capability multiplier,” leveraging artificial intelligence, education systems, and global leadership to create long-term impact.

Summit Continues at the White House

The two-day summit, first announced during the United Nations General Assembly 2025, represents the coalition’s first large-scale in-person meeting. Discussions will continue at the White House, focusing on concrete initiatives and partnerships.

A New Global Alliance

Concluding her remarks, Trump called on leaders to harness the collective expertise present at the summit to “elevate children, empower people, and accelerate economies.”

The launch of Fostering the Future Together signals a growing recognition of the need for coordinated global action to ensure that children worldwide are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
