Truck Driver’s Daughter from Mandi Secures 3rd Rank in HP Board Class 10 Exams, Aims for UPSC.

In a remarkable story of hard work, dedication, and determination, Alisha Thakur, a student of Oxford School Kotli, has brought pride to Mandi district by securing the third position in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Class 10 examinations.
Alisha scored an outstanding 697 marks out of 700, securing an impressive 99.57 percent and earning a place among the top achievers in the state. Her success has become a matter of celebration not only for her family and school but for the entire region.
Coming from a humble background, Alisha is the daughter of Prakash Chand, who works as a truck driver, and Kaushalya Devi, a homemaker. Despite financial limitations, her parents remained committed to providing quality education and constant motivation to their daughter.
Speaking about her achievement, Alisha said her dream is to crack the UPSC examination and serve the country as an administrative officer. She credited her success to disciplined study, consistent hard work, and the unwavering support of her parents, teachers, and school principal Virbhadar Singh.
“I studied for long hours and paid special attention to important chapters where students often lose marks. My teachers and parents continuously motivated me throughout my preparation,” Alisha said.
Expressing their happiness, her parents said they always believed in their daughter’s abilities. “Like every parent, we are proud of our daughter. She has always been hardworking, disciplined, and a topper since childhood,” they said. Her mother, Kaushalya Devi, emotionally added that the family and village are now being recognized because of their daughter’s success.
Meanwhile, Shruti Verma, Director of Oxford School Kotli, described the achievement as a historic moment for the institution. She highlighted that Alisha accomplished this feat without taking any private tuition.

“She has been an exceptionally brilliant student from the very beginning, and today she has proved her talent by securing the third rank in the entire state,” Verma said.
