BJP Seeks Transparency from Himachal Government on Outsourced Recruitment, Says Ajay Rana.

Shimla:

BJP spokesperson Ajay Rana has questioned the Congress government over its employment commitments, urging it to explain its recruitment policy and ensure transparency in outsourced appointments. He said the state’s youth had supported the Congress with expectations of jobs and a better future, but after more than three-and-a-half years in office, the government must account for its election promises.

Rana referred to a recent public statement by a state minister claiming that around 600–700 people from his Assembly constituency had secured jobs through outsourcing. He said that if the claim is accurate, the government should disclose the recruitment process, the rules under which these appointments were made, and whether equal opportunities were provided to eligible candidates across Himachal Pradesh.

Clarifying the BJP’s stand, Rana said the party is not opposed to employment for any individual who has secured a job through due process. However, he stressed that the issue is transparency and fairness in the overall recruitment system. He noted that every youth in districts including Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Chamba, Shimla, Solan, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Lahaul-Spiti deserves equal access to employment opportunities.

He further said that while the Congress government had promised to strengthen regular recruitment, increasing reliance on outsourced appointments raises questions about its policy. Rana also pointed out that the Himachal Pradesh High Court has made serious observations regarding outsourced recruitment in the past. He demanded that the government make all recruitment-related information public and ensure a transparent, rule-based process that guarantees equal opportunity for all eligible youth.
