Seraj Block Congress President Jagdish Reddy Targets BJP, RSS Over Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Theft Case.
Shimla:
Seraj Block Congress Committee President Jagdish Reddy today launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the alleged donation theft case at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, accusing them of betraying public trust and announcing a campaign to raise awareness across villages in the Seraj Assembly constituency.
Addressing a district-level protest organised by the Congress in Mandi, Reddy alleged that the alleged theft in the Ayodhya Ram Temple was a serious matter that exposed the functioning of the BJP and the RSS. He claimed that the Congress would continue to hold demonstrations across the country to inform people about what he described as the “real face” of the two organisations.
Using strong words against the BJP and RSS, Reddy alleged that they were exploiting religious institutions for political purposes. He said Congress workers would visit every village in the Seraj constituency to spread awareness and urge people to safeguard their religion, culture and social values.
Reddy also stressed the need for better management and monitoring of temples to prevent such incidents in the future. He said reliable individuals should be entrusted with the responsibility of managing temple affairs to ensure transparency and protect donations made by devotees.
Responding to a question on whether similar protests would be organised in Seraj, Reddy confirmed that the campaign would be expanded to the grassroots level. He said the protest programme was being carried out under directions issued by the Himachal Pradesh Congress leadership, which had asked district units to organise awareness campaigns on the issue.
Commenting on the Congress organisation in Himachal Pradesh, Reddy said the party was becoming stronger with each passing day. He added that appointments at the district and block levels were still underway and expressed confidence that the Congress would be fully prepared for the 2027 elections once the organisational restructuring was completed.
