First Pilot Zones Launched in Southern Lebanon Under Trilateral Framework.

Pilot zone operations have officially begun in the Lebanese villages of Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar Al-Gharbiya, marking a significant step under the Trilateral Framework for Lebanon.

The initiative is being carried out under the supervision of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon and follows recent discussions between Israeli and Lebanese officials held in Rome last week.

The launch represents a key development in efforts to implement the Framework, which aims to strengthen coordination, support stability, and advance cooperation between the involved parties.

The United States welcomed the start of the pilot operations, describing the move as a direct result of diplomatic engagement between Israel and Lebanon. Washington said it would continue working closely with both sides to ensure the Framework is implemented successfully.

Officials involved in the process said the pilot zones are intended to serve as practical steps toward improving security coordination and building confidence on the ground.

The beginning of operations in the three villages marks the first phase of the initiative, with further developments expected as the parties continue cooperation under the agreed framework.

The United States reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the process and helping both sides reach the Framework’s objectives through continued dialogue and coordination.
