Women Congress Protests Against MP Kangana Ranaut in Himachal’s Mandi Over Alleged ‘Gen Z’ Remarks.

Shimla:

The Himachal Pradesh Mahila Congress staged a protest in Mandi on Wednesday against BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut over her alleged remarks about “Gen Z” young women. The demonstration witnessed slogan-shouting, workers hitting posters of the MP with slippers, and the burning of her effigy as a mark of protest.

Leading the protest, Himachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Working President Tripta Thakur demanded that Kangana Ranaut issue a public apology to the daughters of the country for her alleged comments. She also urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership to take appropriate action against its Member of Parliament over the controversial statement.

Addressing the gathering, Thakur said that remarks of this nature were unacceptable and deeply hurt the sentiments of women. She asserted that public representatives should exercise responsibility while making statements, particularly on issues concerning women and young people.

Referring to the earlier incident at Chandigarh Airport involving Kangana Ranaut, Thakur warned that if such statements continued, similar protests could be witnessed in Himachal Pradesh as well. She said the Congress would continue to oppose any remarks that it believes insult women.

The protest was attended by a large number of Mahila Congress workers, including District Mahila Congress President Anjay Kumari and other party leaders and supporters.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Kangana Ranaut nor the Bharatiya Janata Party had issued an official response to the protest or the allegations made by the Congress leaders. The controversy has further intensified the political debate surrounding the alleged remarks.
