Speaker Invites CM Sukhu to CPA India Region Zone-II Annual Conference in Dharamshala.

Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, has formally invited Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to attend the inaugural session of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-II Annual Conference. The high-profile event is scheduled to be held on June 30 and July 1, 2025, at Tapovan in Dharamshala.
Making the announcement, Pathania stated that the conference will witness participation from key parliamentary figures representing Zone-II, which comprises Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. The event will bring together a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Speakers and Deputy Speakers of various State Legislative Assemblies, Leaders of the Opposition, Chief Whips, and MLAs from member states.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the Speaker noted that invitations have also been extended to Speakers from the states of Karnataka, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Telangana, who are expected to attend as special guests.
“The conference is aimed at fostering robust dialogue on legislative practices, democratic governance, and regional cooperation. It will serve as a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas, deliberation on policy matters, and sharing of best practices among state legislatures,” said Pathania.
He further emphasized that such interactions are crucial for reinforcing democratic institutions and enhancing the effectiveness of legislative bodies across India.
The CPA India Region Zone-II Annual Conference is expected to draw national attention, positioning Dharamshala as a significant hub for democratic discourse and inter-state parliamentary collaboration.
