BJP to Hold Massive Protest in Manali on August 10 Against Congress Government, Says Former Minister Govind Singh Thakur.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organize a massive public protest in Manali on August 10 against the alleged anti-people policies of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, senior BJP leader and former minister Govind Singh Thakur announced on Thursday.

The announcement was made during a joint meeting of the BJP’s Manali and Naggar Mandals, chaired by Thakur, to finalize the strategy, organizational arrangements and responsibilities for the proposed agitation.

Addressing party workers, Thakur alleged that the Congress government has failed on all fronts and that development works in the Manali Assembly constituency have come to a standstill. He claimed that the local MLA was taking credit for projects that had already been sanctioned earlier, while failing to initiate new development works. According to him, the people have received only promises instead of tangible progress.

The former minister also highlighted the poor condition of roads in the region, particularly with the apple harvesting season underway. He said the Left Bank Road has remained in a dilapidated condition for the past four years despite repeated demands for its improvement. The poor state of the road, he alleged, has caused inconvenience to local residents, apple growers, traders and thousands of tourists visiting the area.

Thakur further claimed that even after four years in office, the Congress government had failed to address public grievances, leading to growing public dissatisfaction. He alleged that the government’s indifference towards development and public welfare had compelled people to raise their voices through democratic means.

He appealed to BJP office-bearers, party workers, members of the Mahila Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Kisan Morcha and the general public to participate in large numbers in the August 10 protest and make the movement a success.
