BJP Lahaul-Spiti Holds Tiranga Yatra at Keylong, Pays Tribute to Partition Victims.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lahaul-Spiti unit organised a grand Tiranga Yatra in Keylong on Friday as part of the Independence Day celebrations, with party workers carrying the national flag and raising patriotic slogans.
The event was held under the leadership of former MLA and senior BJP leader from Lahaul-Spiti, Ravi Thakur, who said that the Tiranga Yatra was aimed at reaffirming the spirit of patriotism, national unity and commitment to the country.
The streets of Keylong echoed with slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” as BJP workers and supporters participated enthusiastically in the procession, carrying the Tricolour. The town was seen immersed in a patriotic atmosphere as participants paid tribute to the nation and remembered the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle.
Alongside the Tiranga Yatra, the BJP Lahaul-Spiti unit also observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, remembering the millions of innocent people who lost their lives during the Partition of India in 1947.
On the occasion, homage was paid to those who lost their lives during the tragic events surrounding Partition. The participants also remembered the suffering, displacement and separation endured by countless families, as well as their courage, sacrifice and resilience during one of the most painful chapters in India’s history.
Ravi Thakur said that Independence Day provides an opportunity to remember the sacrifices and contributions of the freedom fighters who devoted their lives to the country’s independence. He emphasised that preserving the legacy of freedom and strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation is a collective responsibility.
He further called upon party workers and citizens to work towards strengthening national unity, territorial integrity, social harmony and brotherhood, while continuing to contribute towards the larger interests of the nation.
The BJP Lahaul-Spiti unit also extended its warm Independence Day greetings to the people of the region and called for renewed commitment towards the values of unity, harmony and patriotism.
The Tiranga Yatra concluded with patriotic sentiments and slogans, including “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, as participants reaffirmed their respect for the national flag and their commitment to the nation.
