Under-19 Sports Meet Begins at PM Shri GSSS Jarol in Seraj, Congress Leader Jagdish Reddy Presides Over The Event.

The Under-19 Sports Competition for students was inaugurated at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Jarol, in the Seraj Assembly constituency of Mandi district today, with Seraj Block Congress Committee president Jagdish Reddy formally opening the event.

As many as 322 students from 21 schools are participating in the sports competition, providing young athletes an opportunity to showcase their talent, competitive spirit and sporting abilities.

Addressing the gathering, Jagdish Reddy said the state government was committed to promoting sports and making continuous efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure across Himachal Pradesh. He encouraged students to actively participate in sports alongside academics, stating that a balanced approach to education and physical activities was essential for their overall development.

Reddy also highlighted the role of sports in keeping young people away from drug abuse. He administered an oath to the participating students against drug abuse and urged them to stay away from drugs and make healthy choices.

Encouraging the young participants, he said that many students could go on to become national and international-level players and bring pride to Himachal Pradesh and the country. He advised them to set clear goals, work hard and remain focused on achieving their ambitions.

During his visit to GSSS Jarol, Reddy received a warm welcome from the local people and school community. He was greeted with flower garlands, reflecting the enthusiasm of the public and students on the occasion.

The sports meet is expected to provide students with valuable exposure to competitive sports while promoting discipline, teamwork, physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
