CM Lays Foundation Stone for Rs. 2.85 Crore Renovation of Sahakar Sadan in Shimla.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today virtually laid the foundation stone for the comprehensive renovation of Sahakar Sadan, the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank building located on Mall Road in Shimla. The renovation project will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.85 crore and is targeted for completion by June 15, 2027.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the renovation would give a new lease of life to the old multi-storey building, which stretches from Mall Road to Lower Bazaar Road. Each floor will be redesigned and reorganised according to modern requirements, with state-of-the-art facilities being incorporated throughout the premises.

Sukhu said the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank is among the leading cooperative banks in the state and is committed to providing modern, reliable and accessible banking services to people across Himachal Pradesh. He added that the bank has been undertaking the modernisation of its old branches and buildings, and the renovation of Sahakar Sadan is part of this broader initiative.

According to the renovation plan, the mezzanine floor will feature modern workstations and cabin partitions to improve the working environment and utilisation of space. The ground floor will be upgraded with a new reception workstation and an advanced screening area.

Basement-1 will be developed with a conference hall and additional workstations, providing dedicated space for official meetings and administrative activities. Basement-2 will house a dedicated crèche for children, aimed at providing a convenient facility for employees and visitors with young children.

Basement-3 will be equipped with modern infrastructure along with a well-organised storage area to improve the building’s overall functionality and storage management.

The Chief Minister said the upgraded Sahakar Sadan would provide a more efficient, modern and employee-friendly working environment while strengthening the bank’s infrastructure in Shimla.

Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, MLAs Sanjay Awasthy and Ram Kumar, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Chairman Devinder Shyam, HIMUDA Vice-Chairman Yashwant Chhajta, bank directors Sanjay Sharma and Hari Krishan Himral, Managing Director Vinay Singh and General Manager Jeet Ram Bhardwaj were present on the occasion.
