BJP Leader Govind Singh Thakur Raises Concern Over Teacher Shortage at Manali School.

Former Himachal Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader from Manali, Govind Singh Thakur, has raised concerns over the alleged absence of teachers at Government Primary School Bastori-1 in Khalada village of the Manali Assembly constituency.

In a statement, Thakur claimed that the school has been functioning without a single teacher for the past six months, despite around 50 children being enrolled and attending the school.

Expressing concern over the situation, Thakur questioned the state of the education system in rural areas and said that children were continuing to reach school every day without having a teacher available to teach them.

He criticised the state government, alleging that while ministers and officials make claims about improving the education sector, the ground situation in villages tells a different story.

Thakur questioned whether the education and future of the nearly 50 students at the school mattered to the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led state government. He urged the government and concerned authorities to take immediate action to address the shortage of teachers.

Demanding an urgent intervention, the former minister called for the immediate appointment of teachers at Government Primary School Bastori-1 so that students can receive regular classroom education.

He said ensuring access to quality education for children in rural and remote areas should remain a priority of the government.
