Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur attended the closing ceremony and cultural evening of the historic three-day district-level Rampuri Jatar (a local fair) in Jubbal subdivision of Shimla district as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the minister underscored the importance of preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage and traditions through such festivals and community celebrations.

Thakur said that fairs and festivals are vibrant symbols of the region’s cultural identity. They not only strengthen people’s connection with their roots but also serve as a vital medium for introducing younger generations to Himachal Pradesh’s glorious traditions, folk culture, customs, and values. He emphasized that safeguarding and promoting this priceless cultural legacy is a collective responsibility that must be carried forward with dedication and pride.

The minister praised the role of traditional festivals in fostering social harmony, cultural awareness, and community participation. He noted that events like Rampuri Jatar provide an opportunity to celebrate the state’s heritage while strengthening the bonds among people from different walks of life.
