Bhuttico Celebrates Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti with Tribute to Their Ideals.
Shimla:
The Bhuttico Cooperative Society celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with enthusiasm and participation from its officers, employees and weaver members.
Addressing the gathering, Bhuttico Chairman and former minister Satya Prakash Thakur highlighted Mahatma Gandhi’s commitment to non-violence, communal harmony, democracy and social equality. He said Gandhi believed in people’s participation in governance and promoted Panchayati Raj, cooperation, agriculture and cottage industries.
Recalling Lal Bahadur Shastri’s life, Thakur spoke about his struggles during his school years, as well as his dedication, hard work and honesty. He also recalled Shastri’s leadership during the 1965 India-Pakistan war and his famous call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.”

Thakur paid tribute to the late Thakur Ved Ram, describing him as the guiding force behind Bhuttico’s cooperative spirit and development. He said the organisation has earned recognition beyond Himachal Pradesh and highlighted the challenges faced by the handloom sector.
The programme concluded with officers, employees and weavers offering floral tributes to Gandhi and Shastri and pledging to follow their ideals.
