Rahul Gandhi Should First Answer Himachal’s Unemployed Youth: Rakesh Jamwal.
Shimla:
BJP chief spokesperson and Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal on Monday criticised Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for writing to the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister seeking an increase in teacher recruitment posts.
Jamwal said Gandhi should first question the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh about employment opportunities and the status of its election promise of five lakh government jobs. He alleged that while Congress was raising employment issues in states ruled by other parties, its Himachal government was moving towards abolishing posts that had remained vacant for two years or more.
Citing an affidavit submitted by the Himachal Pradesh government in the High Court, Jamwal claimed that 1,07,466 government posts are vacant in the state. He questioned why these vacancies were not being filled when thousands of young people were seeking employment.
Jamwal also targeted the Congress government over its promise of providing regular employment until the age of 58. He alleged that instead of regular jobs with proper salaries and security, youth were being engaged under temporary arrangements such as “Pashu Mitra,” “Van Mitra” and “Rogi Mitra” on low honorariums.
He asked whether Rahul Gandhi had written to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on these issues and urged him to seek an explanation from his own party’s government.
“Before writing to Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi should write to Himachal Pradesh and ask what happened to the five lakh jobs promised to the youth,” Jamwal said.
