‘Riza Ri Manu’ Released at Raj Bhavan, Celebrating Himachal’s Rich Folk Heritage.

A new Himachali folk song, “Riza Ri Manu,” by renowned Himachali folk singer Inder Jeet, was released at Raj Bhavan, Shimla, in a celebration of the state’s rich cultural heritage and traditional way of life.
The song was released by Governor Kavinder Gupta, who described the musical composition as a melodious tribute to Himachal Pradesh’s vibrant folk culture, traditions and mountain lifestyle.
“Riza Ri Manu” presents a glimpse of the state’s distinctive cultural identity, highlighting its traditional attire, customs, folk traditions and the unique way of life of people living in the Himalayan region.
The song also incorporates traditional Himachali musical instruments, including the dhol, nagara, shehnai and karnal, adding an authentic folk character to the composition and reflecting the musical traditions that have been preserved across generations.
On the occasion, Gupta extended his congratulations and best wishes to singer Inder Jeet and the entire team associated with the song. He expressed hope that “Riza Ri Manu” would help showcase Himachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage to audiences across the country and internationally.
He emphasised the importance of preserving the state’s invaluable folk traditions and cultural practices, particularly at a time when traditional art forms are increasingly being influenced by modern lifestyles.
The release also highlighted the role of folk music in keeping local traditions alive and connecting younger generations with their cultural roots. Traditional music, attire, instruments and customs collectively form an important part of Himachal Pradesh’s cultural identity.
Gupta called upon people to collectively resolve to preserve, cherish and promote the state’s folk culture and traditions and ensure that this rich heritage is passed on to future generations.
The release of “Riza Ri Manu” thus marked an effort to celebrate Himachal Pradesh’s distinctive folk identity while providing a wider platform for its traditional music and cultural expressions.
