CM Announces Massive Pre-Diwali Bonanza for Employees Across Himachal Pradesh. 

Wages and Honorarium Hiked for Daily Wagers, Teachers, Chowkidars, Lambardars, PRI and ULB Representatives.

Bringing festive cheer ahead of Diwali, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced a significant hike in wages and honorariums for thousands of employees and workers across the state. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu unveiled the pre-Diwali bonanza, benefiting a wide range of personnel including daily wagers, SMC teachers, mid-day meal workers, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives, Urban Local Bodies (ULB) officials, and others.

Mid-Day Meal Workers and Teachers Get a Boost

In a major relief for educational support staff, the honorarium of 21,115 Mid-Day Meal Workers has been increased by Rs. 500, raising it to Rs. 5,000 per month.

The 877 SMC C&V teachers will now receive Rs. 16,009, up from Rs. 15,509. Similarly, 833 SMC Lecturers and DPEs will draw Rs. 19,378, while 491 SMC TGTs will also get Rs. 19,378 following a Rs. 500 hike. 62 SMC JBTs will now earn Rs. 13,762 per month, and 31 water carriers will receive Rs. 5,500.

Daily Wagers and Part-Time Workers

In a significant move, the daily wage rate for daily wagers and part-time workers has been increased by Rs. 25, taking it to Rs. 425 per day.

Chowkidars, Lambardars, and Instructors

  • 1,399 Panchayat Chowkidars will now receive Rs. 8,500 per month.
  • 970 Rajasva Chowkidars will get Rs. 6,300.
  • 3,304 Lambardars will be paid Rs. 4,500 monthly, marking a ₹300 hike.
  • Stitching instructors will also benefit from a Rs. 500 increase in their honorarium.

Hike for Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) Representatives

The honorarium of PRI representatives has also been significantly revised:

  • Zila Parishad Chairperson: Rsm25,000 (↑ ₹1,000)
  • Vice Chairperson: Rs. 19,000 (↑ ₹1,000)
  • Zila Parishad Members: Rs. 8,300 (↑ ₹500)
  • Panchayat Samiti Chairperson: Rs. 12,000 (↑ ₹600)
  • Vice Chairperson: Rs. 9,000 (↑ ₹600)
  • Members Zila Parishad: Rs. 7,500 (↑ ₹3,000)
  • Gram Panchayat Pradhan: Rs 7,500 (↑ ₹300)
  • Up-Pradhan: Rs. 5,100 (↑ ₹300)
  • Gram Panchayat Members: Rs. 2,100 (↑ ₹600)

Urban Local Body (ULB) Representatives Also Benefit

The CM also extended benefits to Urban Local Body representatives:

  • Mayor (Municipal Corporation): Rs. 25,000 (↑ ₹1,000)
  • Deputy Mayor: Rs. 19,000 (↑ ₹1,000)
  • Councillors (MC): Rs. 9,400 (↑ ₹1,000)
  • Municipal Council Chairperson: Rs. 10,800 (↑ ₹600)
  • Vice Chairperson: Rs. 8,900 (↑ ₹500)
  • Councillors: Rs. 4,500 (↑ ₹500)
  • Nagar Panchayat Pradhan: Rs. 9,000 (↑ ₹600)
  • Up-Pradhan: Rs. 7,000 (↑ ₹400)
  • Members: Rs. 4,500 (↑ ₹300)

Additional Categories Covered

  • Special Police Officers (SPOs): Rs. 300 increase in honorarium
  • Outsourced employees: Honorarium raised to Rs. 12,750
  • IT Teachers: Rs. 500 monthly hike

Chief Minister Sukhu stated that this initiative is a token of appreciation for the contributions of grassroots workers, educators, and field-level officials who play a pivotal role in the functioning of the state. He emphasized that the government is committed to improving the financial well-being of its employees and ensuring fair compensation.

This massive pre-Diwali package is set to benefit tens of thousands of workers across various departments and institutions in Himachal Pradesh, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive governance and social welfare.
