In a significant interaction with Singaporean business leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the strengthening of economic ties between India and Singapore. The meeting, which took place today, was attended by key figures including Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Gan Kim Yong and Minister for Home Affairs and Law H.E. Mr. K Shanmugam.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the pivotal role of Singaporean CEOs across various sectors—such as investment funds, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, sustainability, and logistics—in enhancing bilateral relations. He announced the establishment of an INVEST INDIA office in Singapore to facilitate deeper collaboration.

Highlighting India’s transformative progress over the past decade, Modi underlined the country’s political stability, policy predictability, and economic reforms as factors driving its growth. He projected that India would soon become the world’s third-largest economy and noted its 17% contribution to global economic growth.

Modi discussed India’s initiatives to boost global value chain participation, including the Production Linked Incentive scheme, the India Semiconductor Mission, and the development of 12 new Industrial Smart Cities. He urged Singaporean businesses to explore opportunities in India, particularly in skill development and resilient supply chains.

The Prime Minister assured that infrastructure development would accelerate, with new prospects in Railways, Roads, Ports, Civil Aviation, Industrial Parks, and Digital Connectivity. He invited Singaporean business leaders to expand their investments and presence in India, underscoring the country’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for international business.
