Sareen Silver House Opens in Mandi; Offers 95% Silver Jewellery as an Alternative to Rising Gold Prices.
Shimla:
Offering customers an attractive alternative to increasingly expensive gold jewellery, Sareen Silver House has opened its new showroom at Moti Bazaar in Mandi town on Thursday. The showroom was inaugurated by Ratan Singh, owner of Ratan Jewellers and a prominent businessman of Mandi, by cutting the ribbon in the presence of family members, friends and well-wishers.
A New Destination for Silver Jewellery
Named after his granddaughter Sareen, the new showroom marks another milestone in the family’s long-standing association with the jewellery business, which traces its roots back more than 90 years. The showroom aims to introduce customers to a distinctive range of gold-plated silver jewellery, combining the appeal of gold-inspired designs with the value and affordability of silver.

The key attraction at Sareen Silver House is its jewellery containing 95 per cent silver, offering customers an alternative at a time when rising gold prices are influencing jewellery-buying preferences. According to the showroom owner, customers purchasing this jewellery will receive the value of its 95 per cent silver content when they sell it, subject to applicable valuation and purity assessment.
95% Silver Jewellery: An Alternative to Expensive Gold
Speaking on the occasion, Ratan Singh said that silver has increasingly emerged as an attractive choice for customers because of its intrinsic value and affordability. He said the showroom has been established with a special focus on silver jewellery, providing customers with attractive designs and an opportunity to own precious metal jewellery without bearing the high cost associated with gold.

He emphasised that changing market trends and customer preferences require businesses to introduce new products and adopt modern approaches while maintaining traditional values of honesty, quality and transparency.
A Jewellery Business Legacy Spanning Over 90 Years
The opening of Sareen Silver House also represents the continuation of a family legacy that began in the early 1930s. Recalling the family’s journey, Ratan Singh said his grandfather, Sardar Gopal Singh, originally belonged to Atari village near Amritsar and was initially engaged in farming. He later moved to Himachal Pradesh, first settling in Sundernagar before coming to Mandi around 1930–32.
His father, Sardar Jaswant Singh, subsequently carried forward the family’s jewellery business, which has now reached its third and fourth generations. Ratan Singh said the family has always believed in building lasting relationships with customers through trust, quality and honest business practices.
Raja Singh Malhotra Attends Inauguration
His son Raja Singh Malhotra, a philanthropist, sports enthusiast and BJP leader, was also present at the inauguration along with other family members and friends.
Focus on Trust, Quality and Changing Customer Preferences
Ratan Singh said the new generation should embrace changing business trends and bring fresh ideas into the jewellery trade while preserving the values on which the family’s reputation has been built.
With its focus on 95 per cent silver jewellery, gold-plated designs and customer-oriented service, Sareen Silver House seeks to offer Mandi customers another choice in the precious jewellery segment. The new showroom is located at Moti Bazaar, Mandi, and is expected to attract customers looking for elegant jewellery designs and an alternative to high-priced gold ornaments.
