Rangila Ram Rao Hails CM Sukhu, Congress Government for Historic Victory in BBMB Arrears Case.

Former Minister Rangila Ram Rao has appreciated the strong political will and sustained efforts of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Congress government in securing a historic victory for Himachal Pradesh in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) arrears case in the Supreme Court.
Congratulating the Chief Minister and his government on this significant achievement, Rao said the favourable verdict was a major milestone in safeguarding the financial interests and rightful dues of Himachal Pradesh. He lauded CM Sukhu for pursuing the long-pending matter with determination and ensuring that the state’s interests were strongly represented at both the political and legal levels.
Rao said the achievement reflected the Congress government’s commitment to protecting the state’s natural resources, financial rights and economic interests. He appreciated the government’s firm stand in negotiations and its efforts to secure the necessary support and affidavits from the concerned parties in the Supreme Court.
He said the BBMB verdict would provide substantial long-term financial benefits to Himachal Pradesh and strengthen its economic position. The estimated revenue of Rs. 15,000 crore to Rs. 20,000 crore over the next 20 years, along with 11,973 million units of electricity, would significantly contribute towards the state’s development and financial self-reliance.
Rao also appreciated the government’s efforts in other important matters, including the Kishau Dam Project, Wildflower Hall case and the enhancement of electricity royalty from 12 to 18 per cent in the JSW-owned Karcham-Wangtoo Hydroelectric Project.
He said such achievements demonstrated that a government with strong political commitment and a clear vision could effectively protect the interests of the state.
Rao expressed confidence that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhu, Himachal Pradesh would move towards greater economic strength and self-reliance. He said the government’s efforts deserved appreciation as they were aimed at securing the state’s rightful resources and ensuring a stronger financial future for coming generations.
