Rakesh Jamwal Hits Back at Priyanka Gandhi’s Statement: Congress Government Responsible for Farmers’ Plight in Himachal.
Shimla:
BJP’s chief spokesperson, Rakesh Jamwal, has strongly responded to Priyanka Gandhi’s remarks regarding farmers in Himachal Pradesh. He blamed the Congress government for the dire condition of farmers in the state, accusing them of failing to implement policies that would benefit the farming community.
Jamwal stated that Priyanka Gandhi’s frustration over the allegations made by Union Health Minister regarding Congress’s links with George Soros led her to mislead farmers by invoking the name of industrialist Adani. He further pointed out that BJP National President JP Nadda had raised significant questions about the Gandhi family’s ties with George Soros, to which Congress has responded by targeting states like Himachal Pradesh.
Jamwal criticized Congress for making promises in their manifesto, including guaranteeing farmers the right to set the price of their produce, but failing to implement these promises. He added that these issues fall squarely under the state government’s responsibility, not the opposition’s.
He emphasized that the suffering of farmers in Himachal Pradesh was a result of Congress’s failed policies. “Farmers are not receiving fair prices for their crops, orchardists are in constant loss, and inflation has broken their backs. All of this is the outcome of Congress’s incompetence,” Jamwal said.
Jamwal accused Priyanka Gandhi of pretending to care about farmers while using their plight to target the central government. He stressed that the Congress government in the state has failed to take substantial steps for the welfare of farmers and orchardists.
Additionally, Jamwal criticized the Congress for halting basic development work in the state, claiming they only lured farmers with false promises. He reaffirmed that the BJP will continue to raise issues of farmers and the public in Himachal and expose Congress’s failures.
Concluding his statement, Jamwal warned Congress not to mislead the public, asserting that the people of Himachal Pradesh have already seen through the party’s false promises.
