Amit Shah Delivers Keynote at 37th Intelligence Bureau Centenary Lecture, Outlines Vision for Future Security Challenges.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, delivered the 37th Intelligence Bureau Centenary Endowment Lecture in New Delhi today, outlining the evolving landscape of national security and the critical role of intelligence agencies in safeguarding the nation.
Shah commended the achievements of the Intelligence Bureau under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing the agency’s pivotal role in addressing threats like terrorism, Naxalism, and insurgency over the past decade. He emphasized that India’s security agencies have effectively fought and subdued major challenges, ensuring peace and stability in regions once plagued by violence.
The Home Minister highlighted the importance of adapting to new security threats, including cyber attacks, misinformation, and the radicalization of youth, stressing the need for “out-of-the-box” thinking in overcoming these challenges. He also pointed to the necessity of expanding the definition of security to include technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and cybersecurity.
Shah expressed confidence that India would continue to strengthen its global leadership under Modi’s vision, positioning the country as the world’s third-largest economy by 2027. He stressed the importance of young officers in preparing for future security challenges, particularly in the fields of cyber warfare and misinformation, and urged them to equip themselves with modern technologies and strategies.
The Union Home Minister also underscored the ongoing threats posed by divisive forces, emphasizing the need for intelligence agencies to work collaboratively with international partners and adopt offensive strategies to combat anti-India networks.
In closing, Shah called for a robust intelligence ecosystem to ensure the security of society, sovereignty, and the economy, and stressed that the country’s progress depends on a well-prepared and vigilant intelligence community.
