SDRF Trains Local Residents in Disaster Management in Shilha Kipar Village in Mandi.

In a significant effort to enhance disaster preparedness, the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) team conducted a training session for the local community in Shilha Kipar village of Mandi district today. The session, held today was attended by members of the Shilha Kipar Women’s Mandal, school students, teachers, and other local residents.

The training covered essential topics such as CPR techniques, earthquake safety measures, and providing first aid to injured individuals in case of accidents. The event was attended by SDRF DSP Chaman, SI Yashwant, and 10 other team members, who provided valuable insights and hands-on training to the participants.

Shilha Kipar village had been one of the worst affected areas in the region during the heavy rainfall in August 2023, with significant damage reported.

On this occasion, Mandi Municipal Corporation  Councilor of Nela ward, Rajender Mohan, expressed his gratitude to the SDRF team for their efforts. He further announced plans to form a team of retired personnel from the army, paramilitary forces, and police to educate every household in the village about disaster response techniques.
