A condolence meeting was organized at the Bhuttico Auditorium in Kullu district today to mourn the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The gathering offered prayers for the peace of his departed soul, and hundreds of weavers, management, and members paid their heartfelt tributes by placing flowers on his portrait.

Addressing the gathering, former Minister and President of Bhuttico, Satyaprakash Thakur, highlighted Dr. Singh’s deep commitment to strengthening every section of society economically and socially. He praised Dr. Singh as a true Gandhian with a background in a middle-class family. As an economist, Dr. Singh’s global recognition was unparalleled, and his contribution to reforming the nation’s economy will forever be etched in golden letters.

Thakur also acknowledged Dr. Singh’s remarkable initiatives for the welfare of handloom weaver cooperative societies. During his tenure, the Handloom Revival Scheme benefitted numerous weaver cooperatives, providing direct assistance never seen before in the country.

His leadership also saw landmark policies like the Right to Education Act, MGNREGA, the Food Security Act, and the Right to Information Act, which significantly contributed to the happiness, awareness, and prosperity of every citizen in the country.

Concluding, Thakur prayed for the soul’s eternal peace and for strength to his family to endure this immense sorrow. He expressed the heartfelt condolences of the entire Bhuttico family to the bereaved family.
