Two heavily-armed terrorists were gunned down by alert Indian Army troops after they attempted to infiltrate from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred on Thursday night in the Khari Karmara area, located in the Poonch sector of the volatile region.

According to official sources, the Army had detected suspicious terrorist movement along the LoC late on Thursday. In response, the troops swiftly engaged the infiltrators, resulting in an intense and prolonged firefight. Both terrorists were neutralized during the exchange of fire.

The Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps confirmed the operation through a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Terrorist movement was detected last night at the Line of Control in Poonch sector. Alert troops swiftly engaged the infiltrating terrorists, triggering an intense and heavy firefight.”

Following the successful operation, a massive search operation was launched in the area to ensure the security of the region. As per the latest reports, the search efforts were still ongoing as of Friday morning.

This operation highlights the continued vigilance and swift response by Indian security forces in the region, particularly as the LoC remains a hotspot for cross-border terrorism. Further details on the identities of the terrorists involved are awaited as the investigation progresses.
