The members of the Rotary Club Mandi extended their help to a young boy in Katwahi village in Mandi district on February 6, who is physically and mentally disabled due to a debilitating condition caused by encephalitis. The illness affected his muscles, rendering him immobile and unable to perform basic movements.

The boy belongs to a poor family and was in dire need of assistance. Understanding the severity of his situation, the Rotary Club members stepped forward to provide immediate support. They arranged for a physiotherapy bed and mattress worth Rs. 16,000 to help him with his rehabilitation and daily care.

Dr. Vijay Kashyap, who was aware of the boy’s condition, brought the matter to the attention of Rotary Club Mandi’s Secretary, Kaushlesh Kapoor. Upon hearing about the boy’s plight, Kaushlesh Kapoor urged all club members to contribute and offer their help.

Rotarians including Manohar Lal Gupta, Sudhanshu Kapoor, Vijay Kashyap, Kaushlesh Kapoor, Hemraj Sharma, Kushal Chand Thakur, Anil Gupta, Surender Mohan Gupta, and others generously donated towards the cause.

When the Rotary Club Mandi team visited the boy’s home, they were moved by the poor condition of the house. In addition to the physiotherapy equipment, Rotarian Dharmender Rana made a personal contribution of Rs. 5,000 in cash to the head of the boy’s family to help ease their financial burden.

This humanitarian effort was spearheaded by Rotarians Vijay Kashyap, Kaushlesh Kapoor, and Dharmender Rana, demonstrating the true spirit of service above self that the Rotary Club Mandi upholds.

The Rotary Club’s commitment to improving the lives of underprivileged individuals was clearly evident in this compassionate act of support for a boy in need.
